Why I'm Running
I am running for President of the Student Body and Student Government Association because I believe that by working together — the Students, Alumni, Staff, Faculty, Administration, Board of Trustees and the Charleston community — we can continue to sustain a mutually beneficial collegiate environment.
With your support, I believe that I can best represent you — the Student Body of the College of Charleston — in this collaboration. I will strive to meet all the challenges that this office will present. Throughout my tenure, I commit to remain true to the College of Charleston way and serve with Pride, Integrity, Compassion, Persistence and an overriding desire to do the right things for the right reasons.
During my administration, I would like to see the SGA become an integral part of the College and our community. With my experience and drive and the energy of our Student Body, together we can make the College of Charleston SGA a prototype of an engaged and progressive student government organization for other colleges and universities to emulate.
In President Benson's inauguration speech, he asked the question, "What is a gate? What is a gateway? An entrance? An exit? A work of art? At the simplest level, gateways are openings in boundaries. Moving outward, they lead to new, broader, expanded boundaries. Moving inward, they lead to shelter, security and a more confined or constrained environment. I like to encourage people to think in terms of 'no boundaries'." I want to rise to the President's challenge to think in terms of "no boundaries". I want each of you to think in terms of "no boundaries" as far as what we as a Student Body can achieve. For obstacles will always be obstacles until you overcome them. I invite you to join me as together we pass through this gateway to meet the many opportunities and challenges that face the College of Charleston.
Thank you for viewing this web site and for all the support you have shown to me. I ask for your continued support and your vote on March 19th and 20th.
Let's Move Forward — Together!
